About Nova Scotia Aikido Federation
Nova Scotia Aikido Federation (NSAF) is the provincial association which serves as
an umbrella society for the Aikido dojos in Nova Scotia. The NSAF allows the
national Aikido body, the Canadian Aikido Federation (CAF), to interact with a provincial
organisation, which can in turn act with the individual dojos of the province.
The CAF is in turn a member of the
Aikikai Foundation, Aikido World Headquarters, Tokyo, Japan. The CAF is dedicated to the
teachings of Master Morihei Ueshiba, the Founder of Aikido.
We receive instruction from Y. Kawahara Shihan, 8th Dan, who acts as designated
teacher from the Hombu Dojo (Aikido Headquarters in Japan) to the CAF. Kawahara
Sensei, who lives in British Columbia, visits Nova Scotia once or twice a year
for seminars. In addition, we have invited other advanced Aikido teachers from
Montreal or Toronto to conduct seminars in Nova Scotia.
